My stay at the Lorne Hotel was a mixed bag. While the staff were friendly and helpful, and my room was comfortable, I did have some issues with noise and cleanliness. The location was convenient for exploring Glasgow, but some aspects could use improvement.
Rooms
6.0
The room was comfortable and had good facilities, but I noticed that it was tired-looking and the shower didn't appear clean. I could hear a lot of noise from outside, especially being next to the function suite.
Service
7.0
The staff were polite and had the right level of customer interaction. They were extremely friendly and helpful at reception and in the bar, though I did find them inconsiderate when I needed to check out slightly late due to feeling sick.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect for getting to the SECC and was within walking distance to great restaurants and Kelvingrove Park. I appreciated having a bus stop right in front for easy access to the city centre, although it was a bit far from the hustle and bustle.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining options to be satisfactory, with a good selection, but the buffet was lukewarm and didn't feel worth the price we were charged. The food quality could definitely be improved.
Facilities
6.0
The hotel offered room service and had other good facilities, although I did encounter some noise issues at night that made it hard to relax.

7.4/10
I had a mixed experience during my stay. The location was great, close to the Hydro and some nice pubs. However, the room was disappointing—definitely not worth the price paid, with peeling wallpaper and noises from the lifts keeping me awake. The service was friendly, though, which added a bit of warmth to the stay.
Rooms
5.0
The room was spacious but definitely needed updating. The peeling wallpaper and worn patches on the carpet were off-putting. The bed was uncomfortable, and I was disturbed by noise from the lifts, leading to a poor night's sleep.
Service
6.0
The staff were relatively friendly and welcoming, particularly at the bar. They were accommodating when it came to my stepson's needs, which I appreciated during our stay.
Location
8.0
The location was perfect for what I wanted to do. It was a 25-minute walk to the city center and close to the Hydro, making it convenient for exploring the area.
Dining
5.0
The dining experience was a bit flawed. Though I was charged quite a bit for the room, I didn't find the food options satisfactory, especially given the missed event due to sleep.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel lacked sufficient facilities like parking, which made my stay a bit hectic. I had to check out earlier than planned just to move my car.

5.4/10
I had a mixed experience at Lorne Hotel. The location was spot on for my plans, but the room could've been cleaner and more modern. The staff were friendly and went the extra mile to make my stay comfortable, which I really appreciated.
Rooms
7.0
Check-in was smooth, but my first room had some issues like damp smells and noise. After speaking with the staff, I got an upgrade to a much better room, which was spacious and had good amenities, although some of the upholstery was a bit shabby.
Service
9.0
The service was definitely the highlight of my stay. From check-in to dining, the staff were polite and accommodating, particularly when solving my room issues. They made me feel welcomed and supported throughout.
Location
9.0
The hotel's location was perfect for my needs. It was close to the theatre and right across from the open bus tour stop, making it super convenient for getting around.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed a nice meal at the restaurant, with the chicken boona being a standout. However, breakfast options were limited for vegetarians, and the quality could’ve been better overall.
Facilities
6.0
Facilities were decent for a 3-star hotel, but the cleanliness standards could improve. Room service was readily available, which was a plus.

I had a great overall experience at Lorne Hotel, especially enjoying the beautiful room and friendly staff. However, the air conditioning was not working properly during my stay, which was a bit of a letdown.
Rooms
8.0
My room was clean and tidy, although a bit small. It had everything I needed, including a kettle and an iron, but could use a refresh.
Service
7.0
The staff were very friendly and always willing to help, although one of the receptionists did come off as a bit dismissive when I inquired about the issues with the air conditioning.
Location
9.0
The hotel is in a perfect spot if you have business at the SEC, as it was only a 15-minute walk away. Buses to the city centre and airport are right outside, which is super convenient.
Dining
6.0
Unfortunately, I found the dining options to be mediocre, with the breakfast buffet not quite living up to expectations, despite having a good selection.
Facilities
7.0
They offered room service, which was nice, but it didn't make up for the issues I encountered with the air conditioning in my room.

My stay at Lorne Hotel was a mix of positives and negatives. While I appreciated the friendly staff and well-equipped room, the service at times felt lacking, and the dining experience could have been better. Overall, it might be worth another visit, but there are areas that need improvement.
Rooms
6.0
The room was well-equipped and spotlessly clean, though I did notice it was a bit small for my liking. I encountered an unpleasant smell from the bathroom and some issues with the mattress, which was old and uncomfortable, leading to a rough night's sleep.
Service
6.0
The front desk staff was friendly but seemed somewhat uninterested in providing comprehensive information, which left me confused about my room details and breakfast timings. On the other hand, the staff in the restaurant, especially the one who served my dinner, was fantastic.
Location
8.0
The location of the hotel was practical for what I needed, especially since I was attending a concert at the Hydro. It was a lovely area, making it easy to explore nearby attractions.
Dining
5.0
Dining at the hotel was a bit of a letdown. While I enjoyed some aspects of breakfast, a wider variety in the cooked items would have improved the experience. I was also not thrilled about a charge for a small bottle of soda, which felt excessive.
Facilities
7.0
Room service was available, and I found the food to be lovely when we ordered. However, I did have some expectations for additional facilities that weren't fully met.
